cinnamon honey butterHappy Friday and happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians. Although I’m actually American of Scottish descent but we’ll leave that story for another time. This long weekend has me thinking about upcoming holidays, treats and gifts. I love making and giving consumable gifts, ‘cos really, who needs more stuff? And isn’t it always nice to try something new? Here’s a super simple recipe for a delicious spread:

Cinnamon Honey Butter
1/2 cup butter (at room temperature)
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup icing sugar (or less)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Cinnamon honey butterPlace all ingredients in a bowl and whip it. Whip it good (sorry, I couldn’t resist)! Spoon into containers – this filled 2 tiny canning jars with a bit left over. So good on toasted English muffins and pancakes…you might want to consider making a double batch! Like butter, this spreads much easier if it’s at room temperature but should be refrigerated for longer storage.
Cinnamon honey butterLabel it and you’ve got yourself a lovely little hostess gift…maybe add a couple of fresh croissants or muffins? How’s that for a quick and easy sweet treat?

  1. you are a child of the 80’s, I love the reference to devo. I also love all these consumable gift ideas. We do not need more stuff, unless its home made/handmade!
thanks again for the awesome ideas!

  2. Ok… I ate the whole jar in less than 2 days. Didn’t even share with the kids. Too irresistable. I spread it on waffles or any other bread surface I could and ate the rest with my fingers. An honest confession. Now I’m off to buy some butter and make more tonight. I’m going to pay it forward and give it as a gift. Absolutely delicious 🙂 Thank you. (The lip balm is delicious too – tastes like candy canes).

    • Wow, what a great endorsement! Glad you enjoyed it and it makes my heart happy to know you’ll make some to pass on. Don’t we all deserve a little treat!?
